Intermediate learners! Have you seen our new look? ✨
Duolingo’s intermediate units are now shorter and more focused, and these new mini-units help you learn, practice, and use your new language right away!
Here’s what you’ll see in your course.
What are mini-units?
If your Duolingo Score is between 60 and 130, you’re in the intermediate part of your course—and you’re seeing our new mini-units!
Mini-units for intermediate learners are designed to help you interact with new grammar and vocabulary sooner and remember them better.
Each mini-unit introduces just a handful of new words and then immediately puts them into use in Stories, DuoRadio, and Video Call.
Why you’ll love mini-units
You spoke, and we listened! Through feedback and learner research, we learned that long units could feel repetitive and abstract, and learners wanted more chances to use language in realistic situations.
In each mini-unit, you’ll see listening and speaking sessions more frequently for more real-world language practice.
This is great for learning… but you’ve also told us it feels great, too! It’s now more satisfying to complete a node and move on to the next one, instead of trudging through a long unit for so many lessons.
Improving learning, one unit at a time!
Now that all intermediate content has been formatted into mini-units, we’re testing this approach in other parts of our courses, too! Stay tuned for more improvements to help you make the most of every bite-sized lesson.
