Explain My Answer provides personalized tips

Explain My Answer started as a Duolingo Max feature that gave subscribers detailed explanations about grammar and vocabulary. It was a big hit with learners—and for good reason! Mistakes might be necessary for learning, but knowing the why behind rules and exceptions helps you build confidence and improve for next time.

Now, we're making Explain My Answer available to everyone! 

How Explain My Answer works

Explain My Answer crafts personalized feedback that takes into account the error you made and what about the pattern or rule can be challenging for learners like you. 

For example, grammatical gender—a system of dividing nouns (including objects!) into categories like “masculine” and “feminine”—can be really challenging for English speakers.

Explain My Answer takes this into account and tailors its explanations especially for learners who don't have grammatical gender rules in their language. (Hear that, English speakers? 🙏)
